Halloween 1918
Halloween - Wainscott 1918 - back in the day, Halloween was more trick then treat. The following was written By Ruth Hedges Osborn to her son Raymond in France during WWI: "Winfield Grimshaw has taken the chapel to care for. Halloween night the young folks were out. They had a good time. Wagons were scattered about and the chapel bell rung. Mrs. King came in and said she saw a chicken in the chapel window, so I got Papa to go over and he found 4 shut inside. They had been there two nights and one day and guess they were glad to get out and get something to eat. I expect Winne will be disgusted when he looks the place over."
